"Survivor's gratuitous plug"

I just received this press release from CBS peeps.  *Disclaimer: Fresh 105.9 is owned by CBS.  If you love Survivor, this is their new twist.  Rather than heroes vs. villains, it’s old farts vs. fresh meat…It’s the YMCA vs. AARP.  It’s “Generation X,Y,Z” vs. “Baby Boomers.”   It’s Youth vs. Experience.  Check it out!

LOS ANGELES – July 28, 2010 — The next edition of SURVIVOR will be a battle for the ages…literally.  The 20 new castaways will be divided into two Tribes of 10: Young vs. Old.  The Espada Tribe, made up of individuals over the age of 40, must prove they have the life experience and knowledge that will ultimately help them Outwit and Outlast their younger competitors.  The La Flor Tribe, consisting of individuals 30 years of age and younger, will have to use their youth and vitality to Outplay and ultimately Outlast their elders.  Who will prevail: youth or maturity?

So yesterday my 19 month old son ran to mommy and told on me. Here’s what happened. It was time for his nap. We have a routine, a couple little books, some relaxation and BOOM he’s usually out. Well yesterday he was fighting it hard. He tried to crawl off my lap and I said “No.” He started crying and mom came to the door of his room, so I let him get down and he walked to mommy. When she picked him up, she asked him “What’s wrong?” My SON said, “Dada [insert some 19 month old baby-babble here]” and then pointed to the ground. My wife responded, “Daddy wouldn’t let you get off his lap and he said no?” He totally sold me out. He ran to mommy and told on daddy. That’s my boy!

Here’s the weather from Amy Freeze for 7/29/10.

Last week, Sheryl Crow amazed the packed crowd at the Ed Sullivan Theater with her cover of The Jackson 5‘s  ”I Want You Back.”  The song was a surprise encore after Crow played an extended, uninterrupted 50-minute set during her exclusive Live on Letterman online concert.

And if you didn’t catch the show live while it happened, no need for tears–you can watch it now at your leisure!

Avril Lavigne was born in Canada on September 27th 1984. She spent the majority of her life growing up in the small town of Napanee. Avril started off singing country songs for amateur producers in her home town.

At the age of 15, Avril won the chance to sing with award winning singer, Shania Twain, in front of 20,000 people. Shortly after Avril realised she wanted to follow her passion for music, and dropped out of school to move to New York. There she sang for L.A. Reid once word got around that a small town girl from Canada had moved to the city in search of a music career.
